Default Got My Testing At John's Hopkin's

On Sept. 19. My computer crashed and burned with me, so we are both back now to report. I posted on my older post but its at the end of a long one so I don't think any one sees it. What a nightmare! I couldn't sleep at all that night, not a wink! and started having a tummy virus at 4 am! Which I didn't realize till about 6:30 when driving to hospital, thought just nervous stomach. Then no morning xanax either, so I was in tip top shape I couldn't even stand the sound of my DH voice!

They took forever to set up the tilt table, it seemed like a torture test cuz I felt so bad. during the 2 hour prep, waiting on doc, etc....I mustve went to bathroom 20 times, luckily nothing was in there so it was just uncomfortable....then the tilt...which I had before no problem, but this time with no sleep could barely stand and thought i couldn't make it standing there for 45 min. no response. So they inject me with something that made my heart start pounding like crazy i would have screamed for them to stop but I didnt' want to ever go thru it again! Finally that was done. They covered me with a blankie and bought me food and ginger ale....

the nice nice cardio doc comes in and says it was negative for pots and said probly cause i was on beta blockers, and wouldve' had to skip more than just that mornings....wanted to know why the neuro even wanted it repeated! I told him how the neuro said he thought my probs. were pyschiatric (meaning morning shakes) and he said now why would you think that?

I almost cried hearing that dear man say that! He said it could be a number of things and to keep looking.....much easier said than done...why can't he be my doctor? He did say there was a problem on my ecg and wants me to have a stress test. He even recommended a new cardio near me and gave me his card and said the doc could call him! Nice doctor!

Then I was sent for the punch biopsy , again a very nice lady, did 3, one on thigh, one near knee, one near ankle. There was a doc from a hosptial in Tennessee observing.....I am still waiting on those results....glad it is all over....hope something shows up on the biopsy....worried about the heart thing but I already have the appt. set up.

Also was dx with cubital tunnel syndrome of left arm after overusing it cause of splint on right hand from torn ligament...yipee. This has been a fun year....then my whole left armm starts hurting again like last fall from fingers to neck....and the ortho doc wants me to go to pain doc. Last fall the neuro did a cervical mri and mra of chest vessels for Tos but said it was not tos. Now I think this ortho hand guy thinks the left arm pain may be from a compressed nerve, like radial, median, etc,,,,but sort of gave up on me? Wouldn't I still need to have a dx to get help from the pain people? He mentioned brachial plexus cuz I was bringing up all those nerves......I asked "so would the pain people know what to do about it and he said yes."

So far he has seemed like a good doc and I was sent specifically to him by my doc for his specialty. I still wonder why I wouln't need some sort of dx! This is the same stuff that happened with this arm pain last time with the neuro, it went away pretty much after a bad flare and they ignored it. Now that I think about it,,,,the whole thing started in 1991 when I had a tubal ligation and they positioned my arms in some weird position over my head during the procedure....when I woke up I reached for a glass of water and it fell out of my left hand! My arm was half numb and stayed like that for several months.....they first thougt I had a stroke.....the anesthiologist acutally kept in touch with me for weeks till it got better. I have always noticed pain and dull aches in that arm....Just this fRiday at the appt with ortho I thought of that.

And one day last fall the whole arm just became wracked with pain.....I am wondering if the splint I wear at night is making it worse....he dx me with the ulner problem cause my pinkie and ring finger were tingly 2 times,, and thumb was twitching once.....I think from overusing that hand cuz other in splint. Does this make any sense? Should I just go to the pain doc or my pcp and try for another ortho? I hate to bring it up with neuro but may be important....I just foung out that ulner problem is a neuropathy problem. He is working on the general weakness and pain in both arms, that couldn't be related,to the left arm thingy, in right arm too? and if my biopsy is positive, then what? OK I have asked a zillion questions.............but you are the listeners!!!!! Sorry to have written another novel!!!!!!! thanks for anyone who makes it thru this! I should be hearing soon about the biopsy. Ortho doc did say that even though they did the biopsy in legs, it could show systematic problems......(not meaning the ulner nerve, but the feet burning and arm weakness). i was wondering why it wasnt' done in my arms..
