Lightbulb for the women here:

I have had a remarkable thing happen.

I went to the doctor a couple of weeks ago, for a progress check.
At that visit she suggested I do a yeast treatment. (you know where)
I did not have alot of symptoms, but she saw the need during an exam.

So I did the one day dose Vagistat ointment (which is OTC).
I am not a fan of Diflucan, and don't like the systemic effects on the liver.
I had just gotten down some elevated liver functions, that I think were due to Claritin use. I stopped using Claritin when I stopped working (I have occupational issues at work).

A couple of days later, my burning feet stopped. It has been almost 2 weeks
and my feet...so much better. They burned terribly all summer and almost every day as the temps got cooler here.

So in another week, I plan to do another treatment just as a followup.

I am wondering if I had some allergic reaction to Candida? It is something to
think about.

Now this is really interesting, MrsD. I hope you will keep this thread running and let us know how this works for you. Some holistic doctors in this area are big believers in a connection between yeast sensitivity and health issues, especially in autoimmune disorders...

That would really be something if this were a cure for burning feet...

Hey, give me some of that Vagistat and I will stick it in my nose, up my b-tt, bathe my feet in it, eat it, or offer it up as a sacrifice under a new moon, if it will STOP MY BURNING FEET!

I just checked this out on the internet. Very expensive.

I wondered what Mrs. D. thought of this stuff??

http://micronutra.com/candidol.html?...m=food%20yeast

And what foods should one avoid if one is trying to avoid anything with Candida??

Thanks, Melody

Lightbulb ingredients:

I get very suspicious when I cannot find the ingredients on a website!

So I went here:
http://www.techmedica.com/candidol.html

What I am looking at is this:
http://www.wholeapproach.com/shop/prod010b.html#1201
The first two listings.

I will research this further, after I do my second treatment.

There is another product called RePhresh
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lvEOSrrwkg
However, this product costs more than the Vagistat!

I found the generic version of Vagitat at Kroger's and it was 12.99
The first one I bought was the brand name and it was on sale at Walgreen's that week, luckily! (3 dollars off).

I guess things are more dicey for us post-menopausal gals!

I'll admit the burning feet were really getting awful... I was worried!
My tricks of comfort were wearing thin, etc.

Right now I am researching aldehyde toxicity...which is what Candida does.
That is why thiamine worked for me and the AlkaSeltzer I think. Both block
burning. Elevated aldehydes from metronidazole also cause flushing burning symptoms. Same with Niacin high dose, and aspirin is used to block that one.

So the clues were there for me, just needing to be connected. I waited to post this, thinking it was a fluke...but it appears not.

Lightbulb Hi Bob...

I am thinking about this. Candida also colonizes the GI tract.
There are various --in fact a zillion--- Candida therapies, from natural,
to RX using nystatin and Diflucan. (the latter two drugs need a prescription).

Here is one test: http://www.betterhealthusa.com/public/159.cfm
also:
http://www.cfs-recovery.org/research.htm

My foot pain was mostly burning...80%... with some arthritic pain tossed in for some days. The burning was blocked by AlkaSeltzer with aspirin, and also thiamine, for me. Both of these interventions, are used for burning/flushing caused by alcohol dehydrogenase deficiency (thiamine) and the burning flush from niacin. So I would guess if you have burning tingling that is triggered by daily habits, and gone on others, it might be a clue.

Traditional doctors pooh pooh GI Candida. But others do not. The typical Candida starvation diet is no carbs, no alcohol, no sugar for at least two weeks, followed by some supplements, like caprylic acid.

The burning has dramatically gone away... this week especially.

It would be astounding if some of the PN we have is Candida induced???!!!

For now take the Thiamine. If there is some improvement, I think it warrants testing.
