Default I waxed off my eyelashes accidentally!!!

Oh boy, did I do a big no-no last night.

I was doing my eyebrows (been doing this for over 40 years, and yes, I know how to do this perfectly). Never had a problem.

So I'm using the wax product, I put it on my eyebrows, and evidently, as I was pulling the strip off the right eyebrow, some of it grabbed the middle of the top of my eye and grabbed some eyelashes.

When I ripped off the strip and I looked, I said "what is this little clump of hairs in the middle of this strip?" I looked in the magnifying mirror and saw that some of the eyelashes in the middle of my right eye, well, they are GONE!!!

So I have a right eye with half the lashes on the left side and half the lashes on the right side and NONE in the middle.

Looks ridiculous. I put some of my A & D ointment and the area was fine.

Checked it this morning, and except for the missing eye lashes, there is nothing wrong. Thank god I know how to do makeup.

So here's my question??

Will these eyelashes ever grow back??

I have no idea. This is never happened to me in all my life.

I turn 60 and my hands can't do an eyebrow???

Now how dumb was I??

Melody

P.S. If this has ever happened to anyone, I'd love to hear if your eyelashes ever grew back.

Default Gee Melody?

Since I have never worried about this aspect of life[the plucking that is] , all I can say is you have discovered unique new 'talents'? That aside, ages and ages ago, I burnt my lashes eye and brows totally OFF using a blowtorch -not my fault, the torch was faulty...but then no lashes? They all grew back, no mutant formations. Gotta tell you tho that a particular burnt SMELL hangs around forever!

It does take about a full year for all your 'hairs' to replace themselves tho, so be patient. - j

When my thyroid was really out of whack a few years ago, all of my lower eyelashes FELL OUT! They grew back, but they came in more curved than they were before, so I frequently have one curling upward and poking me in the eye. Also, I somehow ended up with a follicle (I think?) so close to my eyeball that when that eyelash grows in, it scratches my eye if I don't pluck it.

But I gotta ask the dumb question....how did you not notice you'd removed your eyelashes? Didn't it HURT? I have to pluck ingrown eyelashes sometimes, and I find this painful (of course, I have fibromyalgia, so it's probably just me).

I gave up stuff like makeup for the most part when I first got sick (I do make exceptions for special occasions like weddings). It just takes up too much energy that I need to save for things like actually leaving the house. And I wouldn't dare wax my eyebrows with my tremor and unreliable motor skills in my hands.

So I think you are brave.
