Default I saw the Orthropedic dr. today......

He took xrays of my very sore ankle/heel and he looked at the MRI results I took to him. He poked around on my foot and finally found the exact spot that hurts so much. He said since I just came off a week of steriods and now on the Prednisone that he thought I needed a shot of Cortisone. He said I have a very inflammed tendon and possibly the begining of Arthritis there So I agreed to the shot of Cortisone.....OUCH!!!!!!! Man does that ever hurt! Now I have ice on my ankle and have it elevated. I hope in a few days it'll feel better. He also said I need inlays in my shoes because I have flat feet! I've never been told that before and I've always had feet issues. He gave me some temporary inlays till I can get better ones.

Ah, I remember well, those cortisone shots. But they do work, and your inflammation should be reduced very soon.

But until then, here's something to make you smile!!

Default Roxie, I sure hope this works!

The tradeoffs of being on or off steroids are taking their toll? Drat this is not fun at all!
Add to that, the fact that after a day of 'elevating' a foot or whatever...it gets OLD, really really OLD!
Sending you the cyber equivalent of a 'tempurpedic pillow' ....you know what I mean! - j

Default Roxie..

The podiatrist sounds like it should be your next stop. They make molds of your feet and give you inserts that are exactly the ones your feet need. I'm working on getting used to mine. The reason I have to have this is exactly what you are going thru. The bones in the ankle are giving out. The podiatrist told me that supporting my ankles with the inserts (called orthotics) will help keep my ankle tendons and ligaments more aligned and hopefully keep the inflammation down.

So, how long do you have to be on the Prednisone?

By the way, have you ever tried Urelle for the bladder pain? I thought you could not get it any more, but our pharmacy had some...

Those shots do hurt! I had plantar fasciitis. I got shot right in the bottom of the foot, in front of my heel... Being a wuss, I screamed so loud that eveyone cleared out of the waiting room... This is why I only got one foot done-not both...

BUT, it did do the trick...

You know, the strange thing about those hurting so much, is the pain management clinic injects cortisone like that and it barely hurts. I asked the doc what the difference was and he said he uses a very thin needle, unlike what most docs use... Go figure...

Is this a man thing??? You know, my needle is bigger than his or what?

Good Morning Ladies,
Man I agree about those Cortisone shots hurting like crazy! The dr. kept saying "it has Maracaine to numb the area as we go......" but it sure didn't feel like there was anything to numb the area! The needles wasn't a small one......that's for sure!
I have to be on Prednisone for another week. My lungs are feeling better all except the top of my right lung. I see my dr. this week so will see what he says about being on it.
No, I've never tried Urelle......is that like Azo?
I will have to find a foot dr. to go to and get orthotics. I've always had weak ankles....even as a kid....so I'm sure the orthotics would really help me.
