That would be fun if we could all take a cruise together or vacation. Make sure it is climate happy though for everyone.We would be quiet a mix of people. You hear the good and bad. My uncle met his wife through the add in the paper. She is so sweet. He is a nut though my uncle.

Yes I've heard good and bad stories about internet romances......Mike and I are lucky it worked out so well for us.
Where ever we decide to go for vacation.....I want to drink from a coconut with one of those little umbrellas sticking out the top! LOL
Today I can move my shoulder much more easily......the side the port is in. I had to wear button front blouses because I couldn't get my sweatshirts pulled up over my head.....it was very painful!
Yesterday my dr. sent me out some different medication for my burned lungs because the stuff he'd sent out gave me a terrific headache. I'm starting to feel a little better this afternoon. I'm just SO exhausted.

Thyroid nodules, per se, have no symptoms....most are caught on incidental scans. A lot of folks have them an had or have no idea they are there....and that is fine....I only know I have them because they did a CT scan of my neck for enlarged lymph nodes, back when they were on the Sjogren's trail. Since then they ruled out Sjogren's for me...and I found out I have a few benign thyroid nodules.

Most nodules do nothing...however, they need to determine if they are active or benign.

If they are benign, they usually just leave them alone. Apparently they could tell mine were benign from the CT scan.

If there is an issue with them, they treat them accordingly.

Welcome to the thyroid nodule club... Mine were picked up accidentally when I had a CT Scan of the chest, lungs, whatever...

I think most doctors like to take a wait and see and recheck you in a few months. From what I was told, the nodules grow very slowly.

I opted to have the left lobe removed, since they couldn't tell. Surgery was easy... Best of all, no malignancy... You can't even see the scar...

Don't get too excited here. Most are benign and never cause a problem.

My dr. wants to do all the testing incase I'm pre diabetic, as I understand it. I have all the "signs' he says. So in 2 weeks I go for the 3 hr fasting test and the TRH test. Neither sounds like a fun time! I'm ready for that cave!!

I know you're not thrilled with getting "stuck"--
 

--but if they are giving you a three-hour glucose tolerance test, it would be a good idea if they did so as to get a baseline glucose AND insulin level, given your situation, and then do draws every half-hour and test those for both glucose and insulin.

Often, interesting things like pre-diabetic imparied glucose tolerance are revealed in this way; it is the pattern of glucose/insulin increases/decreases that are often important (i.e, how much insulin is released to counter the glucose challenge, how far does the insulin spike drive down your blood sugar, when do they both normalize, etc.)

Hey guys thanks for the info about the test and about the reading material! I'll do that! The only person in my family who was diabetic was my father's mother and she became diabetic after she was 60 or so years old. So it doesn't run in my family......that I know of. I hope the dr. is barking up the wrong tree......but with my luck ya never know!

I am sorry to barge in on your thread but am so loosing my mind. I am doing mentally better then yesterday but my back went out yesterday. Today I am in so much pain it is hard to even push around. My other leg is acting up as well. I have spent so much time working up to 20 min walking from the original leg issue to now not be able to. I am able to do more then last night when going to the bathroom hurt. I went to the store for my stuff. This on top of my eyes after months are still screwed up. Why does this happen and how much pain can one take?I can't handle the back being like the legs and am so scared of what is going on along with so much discomfort. Back to the meds too. I feel like such a failure as I had worked so hard to walk 20 minutes and no meds now cause of the back no walks and meds. I have no idea how it happened it was just all of sudden the back. The legs are my ongoing and the left has made progress but the right is screwed up now and I still have pain in both and are limited. The eyes are the same as when it happened. Ok thank you for letting me vent. Just needed to.
