I am new on this forum. I post on RSD and Fibromyalgia forums as well as nutritional forum. I am in chronic pain throughout my body:face, neck back, arms, etc. However, recently I spent long hours on my feet at a party and my feet started burning. Because of my constant lower back pain I usually don't stand or walk very much. Can't even walk a block because of such severe pain. Anyway - I stayed on my feet and ignorded the burning. Within days the pain spread to my feet, ankles, and legs. The bottom of my feet tingle and burn - the other parts are just pain. Is this just the FM or did I trigger off PN? I have taken about 30 pain meds for FM and RSD - none work. I m

My PN started as itching between several toes, that turned to burning within about two months. Then about a month later, the burning progressed to extreme burning, hypersensitivity to touch, numb areas, frequent "electric" feeling shocks in the joints, and intense throbbing pain between the metatarsal heads of both feet. Walking was hobbling agony for years, and I couldn't sleep at night for the pain. From your description, a lot of this must sound familiar to you.
A neurologist could give you a diagnosis.

I've heard that some people with fibro develop pn, perhaps from pressure on nerves, but also that fibro folk get plantar fasciitis, which is also really really painful. Have you had a doctor take a look?
