Default Good Evening all!

I hope everyone is having a painfree night.
I've been having upper back pain...(a tilted disk)..along with all the other pain so trying to deal with it all. I'm seeing a Chiropractor but it's not helping much so far. I've been sleeping in the recliner...even tho we have a Tempurpedic adjustable bed.
Tomorrow I go to the Endocrinologist for the 3 hr. GTT test and the TRH thyroid test.....fun fun! LOL
I'm very happy with the Port I had put in 5 weeks ago. It sure makes infusions easier and much less painful!

Hi Roxie, i have cervical disc problems and found that if i need instant relief, the old Chinese acupuncture or lazor acupuncture very helpful for my condition, but otherwise i just use strong magnets most of the time.
Good luck with your tests,
Brian

Default I'm also glad to hear from you Roxie--

--these "unknown absences" make me nervous (and nobody needs me nervous).

Sorry to hear you've been sleeping in the recliner, though. (I've been known to do that, but generally not on purpose . . .)

Let us know what the results of the GTT/thyroid testing are. (Given the meds you've been on, don't be too surprised if they are a bit weird--hopefully your doctors will take this into account in their interpretations.)

Good Morning Everyone!

Brian can you tell me about the Magnets? How do they help? Where do you buy them? I've been to an acupuncturist a few yrs back for my injured wrist and she did help....the only problem is my insurance doesn't cover acupuncture

Sue, Good to hear from you too! I didn't get the flu Whew! I was worried! Mike and his grandfather had it. Guess all the meds I take saved me! I'm still not working. My bladder is still hurting from the surgery I had in Dec. My dr. thinks the hook for the bladder sling went into a nerve and that's the pain I'm having. He's hoping it goes away (it hasn't!) So I'm going back to see him next week and demand something else be done! (don't ya hate fighting with drs!!) I'd love a PN convention!! We all need that break!

HI Glenn! I will let y'all know my test results. I think I get them the end of next week. I'll sure be glad when these tests are over with......more needle sticks....UGH!!!!! Take care!!

Your hummingbird signature is the best Roxie!

Hope and pray your situation gets better.

I have C-5,6 severe degeneration and had numbness in my arm for months back in 2005 but it just kind of worked itself out with regular physical therapy and exercise. Now, I'm sure the disc haven't "regenerated" but - as the doc said to me, "your disc and spine need alignment and support just like the San Fransico Bay Bridge so think of it this way." I guess everything just realigned better and therefore the nerves are no longer impinged.

Default Roxie...

Boo about them 'getting' a nerve during that surgery...These danged teeny tiny things! They just get in the way of what all and everything, don't they?
Have you considered a new evaluation by a physical therapist for your back pain? I only ask because you have been thru so much recovery from so many things, and you just mite not be strong enough in muscles that usually do a good job of well 'keeping some things' together. The thing about PT is, at least it's non-invasive. I don't know about you, but these days I truly HATE invasive [even dental cleaning].
I am so glad that your port is working! In fact I'm beginning to be a bit jealous [hope you don't mind?].
Silly questioni about that port? Do you get your blood tests thru it? or not?
I for one, truly understand about the 'recliner'. Seems I live in it at times. I've had this one for 4 years [got about 6 months after my onset] and I think I've worn it almost out....We should be furniture testors or something, no?
Fighting w/docs tho? I'd been complaining about one med's side effects to one specialist [who really SHOULD know about them all] who discounted them until my last visit...suddenly doc said: " I've never seen you so 'upset' about this issue!" -man I felt like I'd been banging my head against a brick wall for almost 2 years! Getting docs to not only listen but HEAR what you are saying is truly a combination of luck, timing and saying just the right words at the perfect time. It really feels soo good when you STOP beating your head against that brick wall, isn't it?
I tried a Tempurpedic in a showroom last month? And while I like the topper pad, lying down on that thing and feeling myself going DEEPER AND DEEPER, well after about 45 seconds I almost passed out w/vertigo? Felt like quicksand! Probably why I'm 'living' in the recliner?

Truly hope the stress can be taken off that spine! Hope you get also a good nite's sleep any which way you can and HUGS! Like Sue and others, I was missing you!'s -j
