I was scheduled for surgery on my eye on Thurs. I noticed that the "irritation" on my eyelid that had been diagnosed as a basal skin cancer looked different. So I asked to see the surgeon before the surgery. Today she looked at it and said, "not enough to give the pathologist enough to work with". I didn't understand that statement. So then she said, I won't do surgery if there isn't enough to give the pathologist enough tissue to give me a firm diagnosis.
It seems that my terrible body had decided to fight the cancer. It has healed up enough that she is putting off the surgery. Yes... canceled!!!! She said it would probably have to be removed in the next 18 months to two years. In the meantime she will check it every three months. Yeahhhh!!! Then we went to the University of Texas at Southwest today. I was to see the doctor at the Metabolic Bone Center. Cathie sees him I believe. He wanted me to stop the Forteo and let him run tests. I'm not willing to do it because (knock on my wooden head) I haven't had a new break since I started it. May be only coincidence but I'm 4 months into a two year treatment. I've agreed to some basic mineral tests and will see him again if there are any more breaks. Hope I've done the right thing. So all in all not a bad day. Thought I'd share it with all of you. ![]() Billye ![]()
