Default Every now and then you win one...

I was scheduled for surgery on my eye on Thurs. I noticed that the "irritation" on my eyelid that had been diagnosed as a basal skin cancer looked different. So I asked to see the surgeon before the surgery. Today she looked at it and said, "not enough to give the pathologist enough to work with". I didn't understand that statement. So then she said, I won't do surgery if there isn't enough to give the pathologist enough tissue to give me a firm diagnosis.

It seems that my terrible body had decided to fight the cancer. It has healed up enough that she is putting off the surgery. Yes... canceled!!!! She said it would probably have to be removed in the next 18 months to two years. In the meantime she will check it every three months. Yeahhhh!!!

Then we went to the University of Texas at Southwest today. I was to see the doctor at the Metabolic Bone Center. Cathie sees him I believe. He wanted me to stop the Forteo and let him run tests. I'm not willing to do it because (knock on my wooden head) I haven't had a new break since I started it. May be only coincidence but I'm 4 months into a two year treatment. I've agreed to some basic mineral tests and will see him again if there are any more breaks. Hope I've done the right thing.

So all in all not a bad day. Thought I'd share it with all of you.

Billye

Wink Wow...

are we sure it was cancer to begin with? The reason I ask is that my hubby sometimes gets skin things, and he heals very slowly, and I get worried and send him to the doctor. They never turn out to be the dreaded cancer. He always has weird skin things and inherited psoriasis from his grandfather. But with the nutrients I make him take it never gets really bad or out of control.

What did yours look like?

I bet all that fish oil is helping too.

What a great reprieve for you.

Default I'm speculating along the same lines as Mrs. D--

--and would add that I also suspect the Forteo may have enabled your body to more effectively utilize Vitamin D (don't know if you've been supplementing that as well), and that can really help the body mount immune responses to abnromal cells, tumorogenic and otherwise.

Glad to hear that's there one thing you DON'T have to do.

Default Mrs D

Thanks all,
Mrs D, it was a red, oozing thing with a shiny pearly center, they had a name for it. I would tend to think it wasn't a cancer, but I had two opinions on it. So I'm thinking that my body just healed it. The T cells are strange things. The surgeon said that it was possible that my immune system was able to surpress some cancers even tho it wasn't able to stop the immune system things. I'll take it whatever it was.

I've looked at google sights but mine was smaller than the examples they give so I don't know. The main thing was that it was an open oozing area that wouldn't heal. What was strange was that it healed about two weeks into my increased fishoil routine.

She told me that if I was faithful with the Omega's that I'd see a real difference in lots of things in my body in 6 months time.

In the meantime, we'll just keep an eye on it.

Billye

Default Glad you caught that one Bob

Yes, it was intentional. Wanted to see how many of you were awake.

Kmeb, I'm ready for a drive to Bally to see what they have that's new. But we're going to have to have some work done on my car first. It's acting up and I don't get far without a good car working right. I know I can't waLk for help. And I can't even change a flat anymore. Back won't let me lift the tire.

I'm slowly getting moving again. Actually climbed my stairs to my studio yesterday. So beautiful up there, just awesome,..all the glass windows, high domed ceiling, beautiful cobalt blue glass decorations and my drum. Can't wait to play my drum. I filled up my soul again, Kmeb and Mrs. D will understand.

Hooray!!! This was a welcome posting to see... I am so happy for you Billye!

How much of the Omegas did she suggest you take? I think I remember seeing that it was a pretty good amount and that you were going to increase it gradually, but I don't remember how much...
