Hi all! Velly intellesting reading your screen name origins.

Twinkletoes came about b/c my toes were numb when I was trying to think of a name.

I think I remember a cartoon character with that name. Once I tried to find a picture, but never could.

Hello fellow Aussie, but no! I haven't been there. Sounds like they live up in the Blue Mountains!

Lived and married in Melbourne, and have done the touristy thing through most of Victoria. Somehow, we missed this spot. Have travelled and lived in lots of states, but recently settled in Tassie.

Well..... mine came from one of my grandkids. I forget which one (of the 8)
but it was an earlier one, cuz I've been using it for a while.
I was given a compliment for something I'd done, maybe it was sing a song
or maybe it was after opening a present, but I was told
"Zada.... that's 'nide'
(meaning 'nice').
Maybe the toddler had a cold, maybe it was just 'toddler speak' I dunno.
OH, BTW, "Zada" is Yiddish for grandfather. I just couldn't wrap my brain
around being a grandpaw (and called 'grandad, or paw, paw, or 'gramps', etc)
in my middle 40's, so I adopted the name that I called my maternal grandfather.
It seemed to soften the blow, somehow.
It seems that 4 letters was too short for web sites and I had to have
6 characters or more, so the '44 is my birth year, 1944 - hence 'nide44'.
It seems odd when others reply to my posts and call me 'nide' because
I do sign all of them with my real name "Bob B.",
and really prefer to be called Bob.

Well, those were great stories, and made my day, today, which I really needed...I hope we get more stories, and more insight into the 'charcters' we really are at heart.

Default Boring Name!

A friend once had napkins printed for me with all my assorted "nicknames" from over the years - "spits (water fights) - grace (lack thereof) - fats (hair) - moose (had a run in with such a critter at Yellowstone once I wont forget) - trouble (kinda obvious, if not causing it, in it) " - but I went with the most boring thing of all - initials!!!!!!! I rely on the net so much and my tiny little brain to remember all the passwords etc... that I figured heck - why make this one difficult!!!!!!!!

Boring eh??????

Default Yorkiemom

What else could I be with a passel of Yorkies running under foot?
Originally a crew of 6, now sadly down to a crew of 3. BUT, Miss Minnie, my beloved miracle dog, is still continually wowing the vet with her ability to rise above the problems associated with kidney failure...

There is one other person on this board, who is well acquainted with this breed and the special love they bring to their owners... Actually, you don't own these dogs; they own you... Perhaps he will post here. A clue? He lives across the big water... I wish I had one to send him, in hopes it would help him feel better.

My real name is Cathie and I live in the suburbs of Dallas...

Oh how I wish I could stick my dogs in a coffee cup! Unfortunately, I have to nag for every one in the house to keep the toilet seat down. A Labrador is a wonderful dog for a 24 year old marathoner. I must admit, they are awfully smart....but the big one's head barely fits in the toilet and one of these days I expect him to be wearing the seat as a collar. Lord, what did I do to my life!!??

I have to laugh, one of my old names was Buzzard (for buzzing sensations) and also 8crow, for having stuck my foot in my mouth. I have had a few more complimentary screen names, but I hate to give away too much, LOL...

These are great, keep them coming!

Default What a fun question! Thanks.

My wife and I are ardent birders. We're not into lists and fancy binoculars and camaras, but are into the beauty, liveliness, intelligence, alertness, freedom, diversity, and especially the breathtaking flight of these amazing living dinosaurs. As part of our "birding", we have six bird feeders* in our back yard, and have planted a bird and butterfly friendly garden.

I guess Wings is a wish and goal, to be metaphorically like the birds we so admire.

It turns out that Wings is a fairly common Username throughout the web, so I needed to add something to use this same ID on many websites. 42 is the year I was born. Ebay even had another Wings42, so in that case I used Wings + my zip code.

Wing42 (no "s") was a typo that the moderators couldn't or wouldn't fix for me. Adding the "s" isn't worth setting up a new account.

* Two tube grain feeders, one platform feeder, 1 goldfinch niger seed feeder, and 2 liter-sized hummingbird feeders. The tube and platform feeders attract a few rodents. We enjoy watching the two species of mice, two of rats, and one type of ground squirrel like any other wildlife as long as they stay outside of the house.

Default not original and misleading...

I'm afraid I gave everyone the opinion I was a silver lady or a real old one with gray hair. By now you all know I make jewelry and use a lot of silver (gad! the price now!). And I'm not gray I'm a firey redhead. And Silverlady sounded like someone Sir Galahad would rescue and I wanted rescuing from the pain of this stuff. .....where are you Sir Galahad!!!!!
