Can you substitute Niacinamide or No flush Niacin and get the same results? The Niacin gave me a red rash all over... Like about 15 minutes after I took it...

It did the same thing to my daughter. It had no effect on hubby.

cholesterol

I guess I've found the one good thing about living on ensure and broth - my cholesterol my whole life was very high before PN in spite of very healthy living, eating healthy, staying thin, and super active lifestyle - the doc said it was heriditary (ran around 270). In last couple years has dropped to 150 - lowest in my life.... LDL high - but going down too...

I know in my family member's case who had high colesterol no matter what she ate and how much she exercised etc.... the docs could not get it down - even though super vigilant with diet, etc., supplements, etc... I think for some of us its truy a genetic issue:confused:

Thanks for the tip, about Wings, LizaJane.

I've been seeing a lot of research that doesn't follow the old school of thought about cholesterol levels. They found that by lowering the cholesterol they were actually causing exactly what they were trying to prevent. Course the drug companies wouldn't have had a hand in the current way of doing things would they. That wasn't nice of me, I was being sarcastic. :o

I think, for some of us, that have more than one problem cholesterol is the least of our issues. Control what you can and don't stress about the rest.

Glad to see I'm not the only one that seems to have some weird readings. :D

I'm taking the 'no-flush' form but I can't find a lot of info on its efficacy. However, I've not had the first problem with it as far as flushing. Haven't had a really good nights sleep since the first night of Mirapex though and I'm wondering what's causing *that*. Oddly enough, I'm not too tired during the day either.

Exactly!!! And in those studies that was looked at too. I'm bad at explaining things like this unless I have the article(s) right in front of me. But there's more criteria to any condition than just the numbers...
