I didn't even know what neuropathy or a neurologist was until I was in a car accident (we hit a drive way that acted like a ramp, flying us into the air, hitting two trees, and then landed upside down from 3-stories high). Upon impact I only know I had one brief thought, "that's the end of me", because from the top of my head all the way down my spine, felt as if someone put me in a car crusher!
In the trauma room at the hospital, I was only conscious enough to only know two things, my FEET felt frozen, and my mouth was so DRY! I had multiple things going on while I spent almost 11-weeks in bed, pain level constant 12. I begin seeing a pain management doctor, he started with cervical and lumbar injections, with out success, then he did radio frequency in cervical and lumbar (that's where they go in and fry your nerves), that helped to some degree for almost 3-months. In the meantime I'm visiting doctor after doctor, saying MY FEET MY FEET! And guess what more test, more pills (I have 14 different meds) and I still don't even know what kind of neuropathy I have. More pain mgmt docs, more this more that I GAVE UP! EIGHT Months of this! A couple months ago I started seeing a FIRST GENERATION WELLNESS CHIROPRACTOR! I no longer take any of those meds except on some of "those days" not because I don't need them, I do, but they were doing more harm than good. I feel better without them. Instead I take detox organic stuff, supplements, and I'm on a "hunt-gather" diet (caveman diet) to reduce inflammation. No night shade vegetables like peppers and tomatoes, NOTHING out of a box, bag, carton, no dairy, no sugar or any thing white, it all causes inflammation, which of course causes pain. I'm not as depressed, still in alot of pain with my feet, left leg, sometimes right leg, and know showing symptoms in right arm. My other issues that have popped up are digestion, immune, increase heart rate, blood pressure, and they want to take out my gallbladder LOL! There is not one area of my neck, that is even close to being normal, my lumbar is a mess too, plus I have to live with so many areas of pain, not just my feet, my favorite is when both of my entire legs get these waves of "pins and needles" those are fun, the burning in my feet and leg, and I can go on and on. I do get ALOT less legs and feet pain at night now that I'm doing the wellness chiropractor way, things seem to be less severe. My wellness chiropractor says I'll never be 100% again, but with time he might be able to get me back to 80%! I'll take that any day! |
