Muffy1219--wow. That's a lot of D.
But you're saying you took 50,000 a week for a year and it only got up to 24? From what #? Also, do you mind me asking your approximate weight? I mean, Are you 130 or less or so? I'm just wondering if I could max out like you are on the D. My levels were so low. But if you weigh twice as much (no offense) it could be too much for my body. I know my dr. levels out how much to injest in the end by body weight. Thanks. |

I think you must read the link on the page before this one.
It explains why D2 (on Rx from doctors--the blue green liquigel) doesn't work. I think one should take D3 daily, 5000IU, until you get to the desired serum level.

Ok, well, that makes sense if she was getting D2 instead of D3.
That gives me more hope that the D3 I'm ingesting should send my levels up. I take 10,000 a day under the care of a dr. But I'm truly deficient. Thanks. Cher |

Wanted to post on this thread, too...
Hi, I came across this website today. This man is retired and really interested in vitamin D research. He has some Vit. D book reviews and other info. He's a retired engineer. He has some other pretty cool health research he's done, too. There are many new sites copying the same information.
Sounds good to me, to get that info out to the public. As long as they keep it accurate.

I agree. The site by the retired guy though is a lot of a summary of the things he's reading up on. Which I appreciate since I don't have a lot of time to read!
As for the dr. rohde website, I haven't found a page that as clearly outlined a good strategy for how much to take for what level. I, too, have seen some of those websites that seem to be 'repeated' info. These both have not been like those websites that seem to be a 'cut and paste' of the exact same info. Hope it helps someone. I think the vitamin d council is excellent.
So is The Action D group at http://www.grassrootshealth.net/ Some of the graphs on that one site are the same as on the Action D video on YouTube. Taking 5000IU daily of D3 should bring you up. In Australia they are using 4000IU daily and when up to serum levels, then reducing to 1000IU daily D3. They have blood work to show that works. I have that video on our Vitamin forum along with the other. It is not that complicated. It is only the doctors HERE that make it so.
