I finally to in to see a PN specialist trained at MAyo. Still being worked up but one of her suggestions was to soak feet in cool to cold water before bedtime and to put several aspirins in the water. Then to put on heavy skin cream or if used during the day to use vaseline. I know vaseline is the best moisturizer but what a mess to use on a large area.
anyway has anyone tried this before bed and did it help? Her other unique idea was to give me child dosage of anti-seizure meds since I find the adult dosage intolerable. I'll let you know if it helps. My Lamda/Kappa ratio wasn't normal so I have to see a hematologist. I know nothing about that test. |

--involves chain proteins that often show up in certain kinds of blood disorders, and that's why the hematology consult is needed.
Some of these disorders result from the production of monoclonal antibodies, otherwise known as M-proteins, and they can produce neuropathy through cross-reactions with nerve epitopes. Not to get alarmist, but these proteins can be associated with certain types of blood dyscrasias, and that's why they need to be checked out.
