Default Another update: neurography

Hi everyone,
I had my autonomic testing and finally got the results, they came back normal. My neuro no longer believes I have polyneuropathy because the skin biopsy and autonomic testing came back normal. I mentioned the MRI of my brain/spine but she does not want to do this as of now. The next step will be an MR neurography of both ankles/feet. I had never heard of this before. Have any of you had this?

Thanks, and hope everyone is well. I haven't been posting too much because I've been doing a lot of sobbing lately and my mom, husband and therapist have all ordered me to stop reading online about my illness. No, it doesn't make me feel better I don't think. Maybe it makes them feel better.

Best,
Kris

hi there

I think that a MRI neurography is a specialised MRI that looks at nerves - it's pretty new I think.

Does polyneuropathy always have automomic involvement ? My neuropathy is caused by my lupus, and I am pretty clueless about other sorts.

cheers

Poly-neuropathy means that the symptoms appear in more than one place.
Many times opposite places, like - left & right hand/foot, etc.
It has nothing to do with whether you have autonomic, or axonal, or sensory, etc.
It just means you are affected in more than one spot.
Mono-neuropathy means that only one area is affected.

Kris if your sobbing more, because your family and Therapist's tell you to stay
off line about your illness and you feel it helps you more, than be true to
your heart it's your body,so go with your heart..You just learned something
new today..We can't go around pretending not to hurt if we do.There are
new books and so many different reasons and places to have Poly N and
perhaps they can read them..But if being online helps it's your choice,

I have seen so many with the same problem with family members, how many times have you heard just get moving you will feel better when you can hardly walk or fall down. I guess I deal with this so long,I try to do what's best for me and give my family what I can..I still cry pain hurts..I wish you luck. Nide back to NCS o tommorow..Kris learn to ask your DDr. why when he / she saids no,if you can't ask a friend to go with you that can. Hugs to all
Sue and always ask if your insurance or find out if you insurance pays for it.
And what the Dr. wants to do can be in that ify place with insurance.Get and keep all records.
