I'm not a candidate for a regular wheelchair. Rheumatoid Aritis in hands, shoulders and one elbow badly. Also have very painful feet. So I'm looking at the smallest one I can buy that will be taken apart and put in the back of my SUV. Do any of you have any and how do you like them?
My walking has gotten so bad. I walk with my legs as far apart as I can get them, drag one toe (trip frequently), and I limp badly. It just gets worse and worse. I also seem to lean from one side to the other side. Billye

Hi. I don't have one but my gramps has this scooter and let me tell you he takes it on his cruises and through the airport. It just folds up nice and he speeds right through. I am not sure where he got it but I could ask if you want.He has balance issues so can't walk long distances.

There are ads on TV for 'The Scooter Store' http://www.thescooterstore.com/mobil...randLPControl1
and they will work with your ins. co. &/or Soc. Sec. to get one to you at no cost (or very little cost)

Thanks to the Paraquad intervention on my behalf when no one else would help, because my condition does not fit in any box. My independence arrived last month, it is blue in colour and has 4 wheels all motion controlled by my chin, it is an Invacare Torque SP powered wheel chair.
I have nicknamed it the "Beast" Even the chair itself tilts and it has an SD card to record data in case of malfunction. Have had it down the street and to soccer the park etc, , it is a bit of a challenge but I am getting there, It is making an incredible difference to my life. Although my PN is still there I can now go places on my own, and my dear wife can have a break from me. She has been taking my every where since my diagnosis that is almost 3 yrs now. |
