Default OT- off line

I will be off line for awhile. Movers are coming in a couple of days and it's time to unhook all the computer stuff. I do have a laptop (thanks to a bunch of good friends) and I will be back up as soon as our connection is done. I'm o.k. just very tired.

Love to all and be good!!!

Hang in there and take it as easy as you possibly can while in the midst of a move...

Wink thanks for warning us..

When someone "disappears" it can be disturbing.

I hope the move goes well. So rest up...and destress if you can.
No one is going to "grade you" on how fast you empty all those boxes!

Default As MrsD said,

thanks for letting us know you were going to be offline for a bit. I've turned into a bit of a worrier but then many people I know have health issues of one kind or another and also I know how quickly things can happen.

Moving is a pain. And can be very stressful. I always like the moving into a new home part but not the packing of the old. Take care of yourself and I'll be holding you in my thoughts that you don't overdo too much.

Default jarrett & Mrs. D

Oops you are too late. I am a type B personality and really a little obsessive. My husband underplans everything and I overplan it to compensate for what he doesn't get done. I spent a solid month cleaning out and packing, then the night before the move I had to pack, pack, pack, I also overdid it terribly the day of the move. I had to do a lot of it myself and realized the next day that I hadn't had anything to eat or drink. (husband can't remember what I said 30 min. before) I was a little drunk feeling and now know that it was dehydration and too much medicine. I threw myself into a massive flare too. RF is up again and so is sed rate. You know you really look bad when one of the doctors who usually tells you how great you are looking tells you "maybe we need to give you something for pain". He is afraid to give me steriods because of the bone. We're just hoping it settles down.

I have a garage full of boxes and he just brought me some more that are sitting on my washer and dryer. So far this has been a disaster. Leaky wall, husband broke glass shower door. Etc. etc.

I'll catch up soon, I promise.

Kmeb......I'm almost o.k.

Billye

Default Moving

Hi SIlverlady - good to hear you got moved - now REST! Even though I had lots of help on moving day and the few days before and after - it took all my contribution / help etc, and has taken me over a month to settle (I had to do quiet a bit of purging of "stuff") - I've drastically lost weight etc.... saw docs last week and they were very worried - I'm almost done unpacking (it takes a LONG time to do) and the new situation is much better - but wow - sure do notice I no longer have my old strong body.....

so summary - take it easy - your in there - let others do as much as they can and get Lots OF SLEEP AND REST - I'm paying the price now for not doing so.... again, much better living situation - but man - I want to be able to get to the point where I can enjoy it!

(no jewelry making until you're done ok??????)

Hang in there - sending good thoughts

Default To Kmeb

Thanks for the understanding message. Unfortunately there is no "others" in this move. We paid for the big stuff and the boxes I had managed to get packed to be moved. But we are having to move the rest of it ourselves. This includes clothing, bathrooms, kitchen, etc. etc. I noticed yesterday that my poor husband looked too thin. Sure enough after weighing him today, he's lost 5 lbs. This man didn't have 5 lbs to lose. I've lost almost 5 lbs in a week and I don't know how much it will be when the swelling all goes down. My rheumatoid is really cranked up. My hands are so sore from packing and also carrying coat hangers full of clothing. I've got one finger that has the knuckles deformed just since I started the move. I sure am hoping this doesn't get much worse. I need my hands.

We have to get the house empty and start the work on it so we can sell it. These house payments are the pits.

After the initial onset of the inflammation I haven't noticed the neuropathy pain being worse. Now it's my back, sacrum, sore hands, and sore feet. All rheumatoid arthritis. At first the nerve prickling was worse but maybe I've gotten used to the uptick because what I notice now is all the soreness.

We slowed the pace down today. Both of us actually sat in a patio chair and played with our dogs for a short while today. I'm worried about my husband and I will push myself harder for him.

I'll try to keep checking in but I'm o.k.

Billye

Gosh! I wish you weren't so far away. I'd be there in a heartbeat to help.

It would be nice to have a network of people in the same areas that might could help each other.

Hugs. I know how hard moving is both physically and mentally. You guys need to take breaks and eat more. You are doing more so you need more. Like if you drive you car more often. Ensure can come in handy for you both. I wish you had more help. When you get to the new place I wish you would think about having someone from craigslist to help you unpack. It helped me so much and it was very affordable. Young people need money and this type of thing is a piece of cake for them. Hang in there.

Default Billye? Take time!

At least, at your new home's end. Yes, you've got lots to do at the old place, but there are realtors who 'know' people...... Those people who 'know' people are gonna really be your salvation... you just gotta learn to ask what fors...
IN our area they are called 'home stagers' or 'home arrangers' but, they know the FOLKS who do the scut work that needs to be done in terms of scrubbing and toting and stuff.
I'd hired one a few years ago to help me clean out a part of my problem basement, and I've gotta tell you this person worked HARDER THAN HARD! Even came prepared with their own back brace, plastic bags and you name its..... All I had to do was 'direct'! This was before I started getting IVIG and I was dozing off every 20 mins! Finding is part luck, part realtors, more luck and lots of references..... Plus a bit of cash. In my case? It was dirt cheap in terms of what all we sorted out and they toted to the curb [a LOT more than I'd have thought!].

Take that recharge time with the 'kids' and then go more slowly unpacking in the new place. Rite now, you both need your health and strength and the kids need you to help them adjust. The rest can be done 'later'...it's not going anywhere soon.

Yeah, soreness is going to be ALL over and likely changing channels often... Doesn't it come with this territory? Sigh! Sure wish it didn't! -special! -j
