Default Alan's ulcer?????

Have a quick question.

How do you know if an ulcer has come back? There must be some obvious signs like bleeding, etc. (this I know). But I'm talking initially.

He's been nice and healed for a few weeks now. he went to the podiatrist and he did some work on his feet and said "wow, looks great, it's all healed".

Alan has been wearing his custom molded shoes since the boot came off. BUT, around the house he wears the memory foam slippers. Just to walk around the house.

I happened to ask him a few minutes ago, "how is your ulcer?" and he said "well, it feels perfectly fine, but there's a mark there".

I looked at his foot and sure enough there's a little line right in the middle where the ulcer used to be.

I said "you are not taking any more chances, you will not wear the slippers, you will ONLY wear the custom molded shoes except when you are in bed".

I just want to know if there is a way to tell when an ulcer has returned.

There is no redness, no soreness, no bleeding, (just a tiny line).

Any and all comments are welcome. We don't want to return to that ulcer place any more, believe it.

Thanks much

Default Sounds like it's healed...

The memory foam slippers? If they're comfy should be just fine.
However, should there arise a new ulcer in that area, it'll be harder to treat as there will be scar tissue to deal with. [Cuts, blisters and the usual boo's]
Thing is to constantly CHECK and then recheck [2x's a day] for problems and address them before they become BIG problems. Prevention and avoidance are the best and safest approaches to this stuff.
Alan should know what is right/wrong with himself. He should know best. If you need to help him do so? Do so. Good luck! - j
