Default Saunas and Peripheral Neuropathy

Was just wondering if any of you had found credible evidence concerning the prohibitive use of infrared saunas on peripheral neuropathy. Considering the fact that my physician has recommended saunas for PN and MCS to try and extract some of the toxins from the fat under my skin and elsewhere to reduce the inflammation and has treated any number of patients including those in the military I doubt he would recommend it to me.

However, one never knows do they??

Lightbulb I can only say what happens with me....

I have a severe MP (meralgia paresthetica-- a neuropathy of the lateral femoral nerve) along with my foot and hand issues.

For years after my C-section I had severe pain in my thigh, from this. So when Lidoderms first came out, I used them and
noticed a rapid improvement, but not a cure.

Some things still set it off. Bicycling will do it.
And when I joined a fitness club... well. that sauna which was heavenly in most ways, just set it off big time. Majorly!
Within 10 minutes, I was in agony, and this is when I had no pain previously!

So I don't do hot anymore. No more hot baths either (which I was sort of addicted to).

I might get 3 or 4 shots of pain a year now, instead of many a day, since I stayed away from heat.

I never had more foot pain however. So if you have some specific nerve issue, then I would be concerned.

I think you can try it, and within a very short time you will definitely KNOW if heat is bad for you. I cannot stand heat in summer if it is over 80-85 degrees with no air conditioning for my feet. But PN people differ. If you get reactions, then you will know heat is NOT for you.
