Default Some Thoughts

Gotta say - and if I make enemies - so be it - but I dont think that our forum should be used for religious discussion.... I have strong religious beliefs myself - but one of the beauties of this country is supposedly religious freedom.... we all have the right to believe how we believe.....,.

I think we should stay focused on PN - its issues - and help each other as much as we can in this area - thats what we are here for...

Melody - this is not a personal attack - I enjoy your stories and find your posts entertaining and I think you are a very caring person......

But I think we all need to take a step back and remember why we are here!!!!!! And whatever rocks our boat (personally) to get us thru - then more power to each of us!

Default you've got to be kidding!!!1

My Dear Kmeb:

Do you know many people have written me and told me that they can sometimes forget that they have PN because they laugh so hard!!!

I won't apologize for telling any of my stories. They are all true and if you read my first post on this thead, it was about Alan's doctor visit.

And this was no attack on anybody's religious beliefs. If you think that, then you are gravely mistaken. You are upset because I deviated from the PN subject matter.

If you don't want to laugh, go back to Original Brain Talks.

guys. need your support here.. tell this person that sometimes it's good to deviate from negative subject matter and smile sometimes.

Default U Took It Personally

I speificlaly stated that this is not personal - and I find your stories amusiing and entertaing - if I offended I'm sorry - but I stand by what I said - this is a religioius topic and this is not a religious forum - but PN..... I have very severe PN and related complications which literally threaten my life and continue to worsen - and I need to laugh too and do - but not at the expense of what others believe...

Again, sorry if your are offended - but I come to this forum for PN help - and have found a great amount of knowledge of assistance over the years from its members - who are wonderful.......

I hope you have a good day - and that we are all as pain free as possible....

Listen hon.

I know you are in pain. I have been by my husband's side at 1 oclock in the morning when he was screaming at the top of his lungs and I had to slap another fentanyl pain patch on him.

I've lived with his being in PN pain for over 15 years.

I also have degenerative joint disease, frozen shoulders, bad knees, I almost died during gall bladder surgery and I am living through the loss (while not physical, it's very emotional) of an only child.

So I also know pain, physical and emotional.

When I posted the religious story (I can't believe it's being interpreted as a relgious story) but okay, let's call it a religious story, I expected everybody to roll on the floor laughing because both Alan and I did. And my husband is "born again". so if he can laugh at this stuff, anybody can.

What I was making merry about was the "submit to your husband" mentality.
Honestly, this has absolutely nothing to do with religion and everything to do with MAN'S THINKING".

At least, this is my opinion.

So lets' agree to disagree. No offense was meant to be given, honestly.

Alan and I are on a journey to find out why they are still calling his neuropathy Idiopathic. That's my main goal in life.

That......and to occasionally make you guys laugh if something funny happens to us.

So, no more stories about religion, promise!!!!

okay?

Default Story involving religion

Dear Melody;

I for one was not offended by your story which included references to religion. Had to come to your defense. Religion is part of life and I do understand the viewpoint of others on your posting. I am not a member of either churches mentioned but find all faiths interesting. Bless you, Melody. Maybe we will be banned together.

Default Hey, Melody and Kmeb--

--I love you both, and understand both your viewpoints on this. I love to laugh at these kind of stories, but understand how sometimes they can seem off the point to those coming here for PN info.

An easy compromise, that I've seen work well on these types of boards before--the inital part of the post can be labelled OT (Off-topic) if it deals primarily with extra-neuropathy content (although I realize, as in this thread, it's sometimes a fine line).

Default Not to worry!!! I'll behave myself

Hi All:

I do apologize if I was out of line. I do realize that many of you have much worse PN that my Alan has. It was never my intention to go so off topic that I might offend anyone.

While I can't promise never to go off topic completely, I do promise not to post any stories about religious views. I now realize that this might offend some people.

Tomorrow we are off to Methodist Hospital for our first visit with the PN Department there.

I'll update.

bye for now.

Default I think it is inevitable that in any community or family,

there will be the occassional disagreement or difference of opinion. I mean do we get on with our own families or co-workers 100% of the time?

Probably not,and sometimes that may happen here too. But that is ok, as I have yet to meet anyone on this forum who wishes anyone else any harm. Alot of us here communicate daily, and we all have our own opinions on what is important.

I figure we are all here due to the common problem of PN.

OK

(((((GROUP HUG))))))

That's better!!

Default Did Not Offend Me

Hello Melody, you did not offend me in the slightest way. I find you a breath of fresh air personally. I look forward to hearing your stories about you and Alan on a daily basis, how you progress through different doctors, etc. Having PN myself, I learn so much through this forum and if we get off topic sometimes, it makes you more real to me in that I feel like I am having a conversation with a good friend. Take care.

Thank you Diana;

Nice comments and much appreciated.

We just got back from Alan's first visit to the Peripheral Neuropathy department at methodist.

Long long day but a very very good meeting with a really nice physician.

I am posting a new thread and will tell all of you about our experience today

BUT FIRST. I HAVE TO GO AND EAT MY CHICKEN AND ZUCCHINI.

I'M STARVING.

bye,
mel
