Absolutely have had this type of pain, particularly for a few months last year at the outset of my PN symptoms.

I described the excruciating joint pains as lasting from either three seconds, or three minutes, or three hours and some even for three days! The shorter the time the more excruciating. They flitted around, ankles, thumbs, wrist, knees, fingers etc.

The interesting thing now is that, I'm getting swollen, painful and stiff joints with changes in joint shape and function, so will be seeing a Rheumatologist on the 7th January 2009. Currently I am on Prednisolone to keep the pain and swelling under control and so I can be more mobile.

I have wondered whether the 'hit and run' pains to use your words or the 'threesome' pains to use my words, that I had last year were a precurser to the ????Rheumatoid type damage I am now getting!

It's amazing what reveals itself as time progresses. I've found that to be very true this year! Maybe answers to some of these health mysteries will come in time as they reveal all their aspects!
