Mike has helped a lot PNers get their SS disability and very often on the first try. I'm pretty sure some of the folks here have used his advice and I'm certain some from the old BT forum and TNA site have. Mike does not fill out the forms for you but will guide you all the way through the process. He knows not only what to include but perhaps more important what NOT to include.

Mike does not charge for his expertise but if he were to get me through that process I would certainly give him a nice stipend once the approval was obtained. He is legitimate in every sense of the word and I have personally met and visited with him when I made a trip to NY. He came all the way into NYC to meet with me and we had dinner and talked the night away. I belong to this and a couple of other PN sites so Mike and I remain in touch. I'm certain that Rose will verify Mike's letitimacy as well as Mrs D, Glenn, David, and maybe Lisa Jane and a few others here. Why does he help? Because he too is a PNer, understands the problems, and simply enjoys being of service to his fellow man/woman. Simply put, Mike is the real McCoy.

So, I stongly recommend everyone reading this write down Mike's name, email address, and telephone number and keep it handy. And Mike...if your reading this - thanks for all those you have helped and blessings upon you, my friend.

It was nice of you, Curious to repost it as a thread. But with time it will move
and be lost in other threads. It is quite difficult for PNers to get approved
disability (as if ANY is easy!!! ) so a stickey here would be a great service.
And people could post to it as they go thru the process if need be.

Thank you, Curious, for your help in getting the info "Stickied" properly. It seemed the more I tried to explain the more messed up I was making it.

Sure glad there are 'puter experts' around. I'll soon be 75 years old and not sure I will ever get any where near proficient on this gol danged thing. The computereeze language is beyond me and I'm still convinced that HAL continues to invade my puter despite my son's assurances that HAL is not real. Well....I'm just not at all sure about that cause he ain't always around when these weird things happen! Does anyone else have trouble with HAL - that computer in 2001 A Space Odyssey? I know Gary Lockwood had a hell of a time with him and I'm not sure he ever totally eliminated him. Hmmmmm

You get your vcr to stop blinking by throwing the darn thing out the window and buying a new dvd/vcr combo. No more blinking.

And interestingly, when Alan applied for Social Security 5 years ago and went to their doctors for the emg, as soon as they saw he had absolutely no feeling in his feet HE WAS APPROVED ON THE FIRST TRY.

Thank goodness for that.

so after i posted...i asked grandmonkey who is 5...who fixed the vcr in his room. he did it himself. so guess what...he just fixed the time on mine.

I will never forget the first time I got my first VCR. It was 25 years ago. It was a quasar and it was the old top-loading kind. Alan and I taped all darn day. When he got home from work, well, it was the best thing since sliced bread.

The first time I had to program the stupid thing, the clock was flashing and I ran next door to my neighbors. It took her one hour to show me how to do the clock. ONE HOUR. Forget about programming it. A new store opened up down the block. It was called a VIDEO STORE. You went there and rented tapes. Cost $.99 a day.

Twenty five years later, some tapes are still $1.00 a day.

But my local video store is not getting any more VHS tapes. They say companies don't make movies and put them out on tape any more. Only dvd's. I HATE DVD's.


I now have 4 vcrs. All panasonic. I tape all the time and Alan and I exchange tapes. You can't do that with a TIVO. So I prefer taping and exchanging tapes. I'd be lost without my vcr's. I got my 4th one last week. Didn't cost me a thing. My girfriend around the corner threw her's out because she didn't know how to use it. I took it right home, plugged it in and called her and said "thanks". she burst out laughing.
