Hi y'all! I'm going back to St.Louis in two weeks and I've never flown with Neuropathy. Any suggestions?
I have two / two hour flights. From San Jose to Denver, then Denver to St. Louis. I'm going from Sunny California to really cold and snowy midwest. I know, but we all do stupid things for love! I'm only going for five days, then I'm coming home again. What about carrying my "meds" on the plane with me? Will they allow that? I know they are getting pretty strict about carry on stuff, but I really think I'll just have my purse and my cane. For those of you who live in the midwest, any suggestions on what type of clothing to bring. I grew up there, and have been back to visit mostly in the fall and summer. But NEVER with Neuropathy. I'll be staying at a Hotel, I'll have someone else to drive me around, and not doing much "outdoor" activities except maybe a daily outing to visit relatives for dinner. I just am worried about having to wear "snow" boots! My feet hate anything but my slippers or old walking shoes. I might buy a pair of fur lined boots that are really roomy. Any suggestions? Terri |

Hi there:
Do you wear comfortable socks?? Alan and both wear those diabetic socks (we got them real cheap on ebay). I wouldn't wear anything else. These things stretch sooooo and are soooo comfortable. Ebay has loads of them. So if you hate anything tight on your feet, these are the socks for you. Now for what you should bring. Well, if you're going from sunny to cold, (and I know cold), bring lots of warm tops, pants and socks and a besides your slippers and shoes, bring a pair of boots, (You never know if the weather can change dramatically). Bring a warm coat and hat, gloves and scarf for your head and you'll be good to go!!! Enjoy your trip. I can't imagine they would not let you bring meds on a plane. I would suggest you ask the check in person. be well. melody

Dear Terri:
I live in Minneapolis, MN and if we don't have snow on the sidewalks or anyplace you want to walk outside, just plain shoes will do. Fur lined boots if you can find some that don't bother your feet, would be lovely whether there is snow or not! They would keep your feet warm but you don't really have to have them. I don't even own any boots! Of course I drive all the time and the little snow that I encounter on driveways and sidewalks I just plow through with the shoes. Of course that can be hard on shoes and my tootsies do get cold. I don't make a habit of walking through deep snow. Here in MPLS we don't have any snow on the ground at all right now. The snows have all gone around us. They are telling us we might have flurries tonight, but that won't last - probably melt almost right away if it is just flurries. Shirley H. in Minneapolis |

and I posted the same exact thing. But aside from the clothing issue because Melbourne is very cold compared to Sydney, I had no issues on the plane.
You should be fine. Just relax..... As far as the meds go, I carried mine in my hand bag, and an extra script just in case. |
