You can be intolerant of rice, not allergic. An intolerance can cause all sorts of symptoms too. If I eat rice, I get a nasty red rash on my tummy that peels like a sunburn, and sometimes, constipation. Too much cornstarch can do the same thing. Soy is bad for me too. I actually, do not eat any grains, not since March last year.

"Consider: If the presence of glutamate triggers a more severe histamine response than otherwise would be suffered by the unwitting allergic victim, perhaps MSG did not kill the victim directly, but was actually an accomplice. Perhaps the individual would have survived had MSG not also been in the offending food. One has to conclude that if MSG exacerbates an already-occurring allergic reaction, then it would appear to be an extremely dangerous unnecessary food additive to place in restaurant meal." If I'm intolerant of certain foods, which is rather possible considering my history of being allergic to many things, this excess of processed glutamate is triggering a sever histamine response, which is what is causing me to have asthma like SOB, sneezing, runny nose, and intense itching, from my neck to my ankles. In essence, taking the intolerance and "turning" it into an allergic reaction. I just hope I'm right this time! |
I eat rice all the time.
I hope I don't burn myself out on rice. I think dust mites are my down fall. I did not even think about allergies for all those years. About two years ago the sneezing - eye mucus and everything was getting so bad .... I finally started to admit it ..... I have allergies. I've had a dog for ages but - about 18 months ago my daughter talked me into a shelter kitten (Rocky) ......... yes things picked up around here lol. ----------------- itching? The more hot showers ------- the more the itching. I am sitting here with burning feet (PN) doing toe exercises (claw-toe or something) .... with eye mucus and ........ some coughing - allergies. Getting old is soooooooo fun. |
