The Neurontin doses seem high because Neurontin is not absorbed well. As the dose goes up, absorption in the GI tract goes DOWN.

I am always amazed that doctors will give massive doses of this,
and be chintzy with B12!

And now given that MORE scandal revolves around this drug (the Dr. Reuben fraud),
its usefulness becomes more questionable every day.

Understand MrsD, but I feel the Nuerontin has been a great help to me. When I have forgotten to get my Meth rx script from my neuro doc, even taking the Neurontin alone sure is better than nothing (even though Meth does stay in the body for short while, I heard).

I'm going to ask my neuro doc what he thinks about uping my Neurontin vs. uping mu Meth.

I was on Cymbalta for 6 months the 60 mg and had no issues but no benefits either. I have always been watched about my liver so am wondering why no doc was concerned about this drug for me. I had tried the others like neurontin etc and had a hard time.

I am back on this med again working up to the pain dose this time which I guess is 120. Will see. Before after the inital time of nausea I had no side effects but no benefits. Maybe with the 120 I will see benefits. Fewdalord what dose are you on cause I have heard of people on real high doses so why I am asking

I had very bad effects from Neurontin but Lyrica works well for me if I don't exceed the 150mg twice a day. My neurologist tried me at 200mg twice a day and it made me terribly nauseated. Trileptal works the best, I think, and I'm on that, too, at 300mg morning and 600mg night time.

When you're talking about "meth", are you referring to methamphetamines?

Some people call methadone "meth". In the context of this board I think that is what is being referred to.
Methadone is an opiate used for pain.

It is also used to detox heroin addicts off the heroin, but is an opiate and is just as habit forming to the addict-just doesn't get him high, altho there is a street black market for meth as well.
