Hi! Does anyone know if Metanx medication causes nighttime foot and legs cramps? I started taking Slow-Mag tablets and it seems to help with the cramping problem. Also I have noticed my hair has become stiff and thicken since starting the Metanx? An ideas?

High dose folic acid encourages hair growth. It may also revert some gray back to natural but that depends on the person.
When nerves heal they may do weird things...overreact etc. But magnesium is really a good thing to take for nocturnal leg cramps. You will want to make sure you get daily calcium as well. I'd get a test at the doctor's for Vit D levels. People with chronic pain often have low D. When D is low, then the calcium you do eat does not get absorbed well. Calcium + magnesium in a good balance is needed for preventing cramping. Some say 2:1 is the ideal ratio. Calcium:magnesium.

Hi. I take magnesium too with the hopes of it helping like for what you stated. I was also put on klonopin to help with muscle relaxing and I call no circulation/severe tightness. I agree about make sure the calcium has vitamin d. I have good vitamin d levels but osteoporsis and was still told to take both. Feel better
