I've come across a few people on the net who have had ideopathic PN, but improved significantly or healed in under a year. I know it takes a very long time if healing is to ever take place, but I was curious about this certain group. What could have stricken them in the first place to cause their ideopathic PN , but still allowed them to heal in under a year? A toxic attack? Autoimmune? I was just wondering about some theories of what it could have been to then heal up like that is such a short time...

I am thinking viral.
In your case I still think one or more of your drugs is a culprit. Most likely the angiotensin receptor blocker. There are reports that I gave you previously on Medwatch reporting burning sensations. If one does not remove the cause of the PN, it does not go away. When my thyroid was treated finally it took about a year for my feet to wake up and settle down. Now that I am fighting insulin resistance I have that new problem, which will never go away!

Thank you MrsD. I'm sorry that you are having to deal with another health issue. I know how frustrating it is to work with one health problem, only to be hit with another. What are you taking for the insulin problem? As far as my meds are concerned, I came off some of the ones that I was taking when I was hit with PN, but then I was put on some more. Darn blood pressure is so hard to work with, that and my heart rhythm problems. I'm going to see my blood pressure specialist next week, and I will again bring up the meds. I'm also noticing my pain sometimes comes in cycles following my hormonal cycle, so I know that is irritating things as well. Isn't this fun? |
