Default Niacin and B6?

Has anyone been advised to take both of these vitamins for PN? I'm trying both of them on the advice of a doctor and searching through the posts, I didn't see any mention of niacin.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I take both, but be careful of the B6.
Too much causes PN.
I take it in the P-5-P form and only 50mgs/day.
You shouldn't take more than 50-100mgs/day.... total!
That means adding up any multi-vit B6 and any others
like a B complex too.

Thanks Nide, he said 50mg daily on the B6. I couldn't find any 50's so I'm cutting the 100's.

Any thoughts on niacin?

Default Many people have used niacin--

--in fairly large doses, and some have reported it helps with neuropathy burning type pains, although it has a higher profile as a supplement to reduce bad (LDL) cholesterol in lieu of statins.

Take a look at this thread (which references others):

Consider the P-5-P (B-6) type. It's supposed to be the best type if you have PN.
I take it mostly for my CTS. I started that upon recommendation from MrsD.
I'm sure you'll find posts on it in her vitamin & supplements forum, here at NT.

Thanks for the responses. I'm going to study MrsD's posts.
