Hey,
It's okay to be scared. EMGs are no fun. Ouch!!!!!!!!!!! Sometimes it takes a while to find a diagnosis. Maybe keeping a journal would help you understand so you can relay that to the docs. If you're sick, you're going to have a lot of medical trips. Not at your convinence, though. And you ususally have to pay for this added aggravation. There's just no substitute for good health. Don't hestitate to ask for help here. There's a wealth of info to reasearch. I pray you find relief soon.

The axon is the center of the nerve cell, the myelin is the sheath or covering.
Kinda like an electrical wire. The plastic outside (myelin) is the insulation for the wire inside (axon). Have you read the 'stickies' at the top of the topics page? Go to the links provided therein for answers to many of your questions.

In my opinion your overall health needs addressing if your not taking care of yourself. Unless it's something like b12 deficiency and shot's take care of it but it's not that easy for most. I hope it's an obvious one. The possibles are in the stickies. Some might be deficiencies like B12, alcohol, diabetic, cemicals, etc. But do yourself a favor if your not in tip top shape and eating correctly, getting enough sleep, keeping stress to a minimum, etc. do it these will help hopefully along with knowledge about PN and what to look for (causes). Good luck.
