Your kitties and your son's are just adorable MrsD.
. Where'd you get that kitty seat? Is it hanging over the top of a door?

It was a gift from a friend, that we never used. It was supposed to hang on a narrow radiator, and we never figured out how to use it.
I gave it to my son, and he figured out some compromise. I found some other types similar when I looked for hardware to convert his (without success). Here are some links...not expensive at all: . (this one doesn't look too stable) This is nicer: . . . It would be nice to have a high spot she could retreat to away from the other cat. We have 3 cat trees, that I have purchased over the years.

. I did some looking around after I went to Amazon and I think something like this would be better since I have a few surfaces near windows where I could put it. Rocky likes to sit on things that are warm so this might be a good choice. Eventually he might let the kitten join him on it too. .

She really is a cutey pie isn't she?
. My sister called this afternoon to check on her. Daisy had been the more timid kitten but that changed since coming here, lol. She plays like a little fireball, running and going from one thing to the next. Rocky is Mr. Hisser so far, but he'll get over it. . He growled and hissed when DS brought her downstairs and she was within a few feet of his dish. . It was empty, HELLO?? . Right now he's on DH's lap taking a nap. No more hissy fits tonight, Daisy is in bed for the night. .

Yep, it is really all about FOOD basically!
Our Sheba is the hisser around here! She also wants to be first thru any door. Major alpha stuff. But it is just bluster. She will whack one of the others occasionally, but never does damage of any kind. Oreo has learned that she can leap over her, since Sheba is lame, and slow. And that doesn't help with Sheba's attitude in the end either. There are times they sit in close proximity with no friction. But Sheba does not "play". The other two play every day.

This Amazon one is less $$ even... its been 2 yrs since I got ours. . I tried putting a heating pad under a towel for her, but she can hear it "buzz" or hear the electricity or whatever and won't go near it!

Ok, today started with some hissing but gradually Rocky has warmed up to Daisy.
. He had a good morning for one thing, with lots of attention from DH, and I played with him for awhile before Daisy was brought downstairs. Later DS brought her down and he started sniffing at her so that was good. It seems like butt sniffing is a prerequisite for friendship or acceptance. . He followed her around and gradually starting relaxing somewhat. Then this afternoon he started playing with her! . He has a large scratching post and she was starting to climb one side of it and he started clawing on the other side. He'd peek around at her and she'd poke at his nose, lol. Then she was hiding under some coats hanging on the stairway railing and he'd poke at her and she'd poke back out at him. . He's really strong though and has big paws with large claws so I'm not going to leave them unsupervised for a couple more weeks and she gets a little bigger. Although, her little front paws are like tiny sabers. She's not afraid to poke him in the nose, or arch her back and bounce sideways toward him. . . . He did give her a couple of clawless whacks that were too hard though so we have to be careful for awhile. She also sniffed his empty food dish and took a drink of his water and he didn't react!! . I'm amazed and thrilled that they're getting acquainted so fast. He really needed a friend and playmate. He was getting so lonely and bored so often.

Oh, cool..... you're on your way with them. I think he loves her already! Males are very accepting of females. (another male, and it would be a problem)
I found the mats on Ebay, no shipping, $13.49 each and bought 2 more for us! . We have a boiler in the basement for heat.. and the cats tend to pile up in the dining room on the floor over that where it is warm now that it is colder out. This should help us move them away from underfoot. Sheba's mat is on my bed, in the coolest room of the house...I need the window open even in winter, as I can't sleep in a warm room. This was a much better price than WalMart's 2 yrs ago.

Thanks for the link MrsD. I got two of them, one for upstairs and down, and they can share between floors, lol. Rocky is already sharing his toys.
. He refuses to share DH though, he's all Rocky's. He doesn't want to see Daisy getting on his favorite lap.
