So hmmm, why do I have a wiener at my house, LOL!

Here's Kirby.
Because A - pap's SHED as much as 50 dogs. I kid you not. come on over and see for yourself. I vac daily and empty the container twice per room! It's not pomeranian hair.

And B - what's not to love about weiners, with those long, sad faces?

Every dog I see, I want one. I'm just that kind of person. And every dog I have, I think, I will have to have one of these as long as I live. Once you experience the companionship of a particular kind of canine, it's hard to do without.

I'll tell you, I still sorely miss my poodle. And I know I'll miss the papillon - he is as cuddly as a guy could be.

(((Dottie))) LOL! Mya is SO cute. Yes, those faces are something else, aren't they!? I also love the little weiner wiggle they get in their hind end when they're excited.

And I'm a tad shocked about the Paps! I didn't know they shed so badly. The furbaby in my house that sheds the most is my poly cat, Chewie, and he has short hair. But it's so thick...you just touch him and fur goes flying!

Default When life hands you lemons....

Shedded hair can be put to good use. I know a woman who collects doggie fur, spins it into yarn and uses it to knit socks and mitts. She donated a bunch for a humane society auction and they were the "must have" item at the event. You don't know soft until you've indulged in a pair of Samoyed socks!

Cheers

Yep. Rudy dashes off the couch and leaves an airborn trail of hair. I brought freshly laundered suitcase of clothes to FL with me. 4 weeks and how many washings later, coming home, I STILL had dog hair on me.

.

He is 9 lbs - how does he lose that much hair and not die?

You open the curtains here, and you see long, silky white hairs drifting, drifting. No matter what I do, it's everywhere. They'll find it all over inside my corpse at autopsy when I die.

.

And silly me, I have a navy couch.

Hockey - I should google that woman. I have two poms to clip. That's at least a dozen pairs.

((Ms. Alffe)) I contacted the people at that link. We emailed back and forth a couple of times. This was her initial response to me.

Hi Nancy,

Thanks for your email. Unfortunately, that legislation (SB 53/HB 198) did not pass last year. The legislature did set up a puppy mill task force, which met over the summer. We’re expecting a different puppy mill bill to be introduced this year.

Hope that helps – let me know if you have any other questions.

Sincerely,

Tami Santelli
Director, State Legislation

Thank you for your response.

That’s unfortunate. I think the people who vote on these should visit several mills and go to some of the auctions. They may feel differently.
To which she responded (sorry, LOL!)...

Yes, it’s frustrating, isn’t it? Fortunately, legislators have been increasingly interested in cracking down on puppy mills, so hopefully we’ll see some action across the country this year.
She's right. As long as the issue keeps in the forefront by people like HUA, someday ... some day... things will be better for our companions.

And by the way, HUA participated in yet another large rescue from a Nebraska puppy mill.
