Thanks for this good article ((MrsD)). I have dropped pills so many times and freaked. Never give up until I find them on the floor for fear the animals will find them.
AND that would include floss after that horrific time with Chewie awhile back! Vet also told me not to get flavored dental floss as cats would really like that. Still can't believe what happened with Chewie because I dropped a roll of floss onto the floor and didn't know about it because it went under my bed! You just never know what they'll get into so yes, be very careful about what falls on your floor! Oh, and not only that, I have a cat that jumps up on my kitchen counters, so I always make sure there are no dropped pills there as well.

I remember that floss nightmare. I am so happy for both of you that it is over!

I am so paranoid about my medications, especially since my little boston Kippy, decided to somehow get my Naporsin off the table, chew through the bottle and eat approximately 28 pills. We got all the dogs to the vet ASAP, he induced vomiting (this can be done at home even with hydrogen peroxide!), and the only one that had pill remains was our Kippy. He gave her some medicine, and after many trips to the vet (daily for 3 days worth of IVs), she was fine. We still watch her carefully, as she is our heart dog and more "curious" and active than our boys. She is definitely a handful, but makes our lives complete. I am very cautious now with medicines and pill bottles even.

We had it happen to a cat in the family. Yep - call to poison control, and had to make him vomit up the pill, with me looking through the vomit until I found it. He lived another 13 years or so after that, so I guess it didn't damage him. But you can be sure I have been more careful about medicines ever since.

Oh thanks for remembering about Chewie MrsD! I believe I had a thread going on about it at the time. The vet really was shocked that Chewie pulled through it. What he had to do to get the floss out of his entire digestive system just blew my mind. His incision went from stem to stern! And did cost a mint to say the least.
