I forgot to say that our new cockatiel who's name is Reggie (rhymes with vegie) got his name from a comedian on Australian TV.
He's still very young, but his squawks and squeals have changed a lot in the two weeks that we've had him. The noises he's making now are much softer, and have inflections and pauses, which we both hope is a prelude to him starting to talk. That's what we think anyway! . Does anyone know how old a cockatiel is before they start to talk? We have him in our living room and we talk to him all the time. He even likes to watch TV! . In fact if you walk between him and the TV set he cranes his head and squawks! .
