Haha, yep, here I am at (nearly) 62, being careful that my cats don't sense my stress. Didn't I do that forty years ago with KIDS?? I wonder if they'll recognize it as stress if I sit in the middle of the floor with a blanket over my head, sobbing and repeating, "I can't DO this anymore, I can't DO this anymore"?

You know.... I have to laugh. But sitting on the floor with them, does work. I've done it before. But I hesitated to suggest it here because perhaps you can't physically manage that.
I know for myself, it is the getting back UP that can be hard when one gets to be our age. We are a bit older than you, so we don't get down on the floor unless someone can help us up!;)

I do feel your pain. One aspect of cats is that they can truly
humble us! At least ours do that!

I figure the cats are young, they can come to MY level. :D
