PETA has been after Iams for a long time now.
Our cats have been eating Iams kibble (Eukanuba) for 10 yrs now and they are not affected. (2 of them have had repeated blood work over the past 5 years). Everyone is trying to cover their butts on this one. Older dogs and cats do got into kidney failure, anyway, just like humans do. It is possible that someone at Menu Foods made a "mistake" and put in the wrong % of ingredients? Or there is another toxin? There remains more unanswered questions. Here is another link to a discussion about this horrendous situation: . And here is a paper from 2005 describing symptoms....they do sound similar. .
