We visited the Norfolk Bot. Garden in summer of '06. I remember taking the little tram ride around the park there, and the tour guide pointing out the eagle's nest off at a distance, Believe I got some shots of it too!!! Wow, it's such a cool thing to see how they spread their wings to try and protect the babies, even when they're venturing out onto the branches.

mrsd, I'll never forget this instance...

I was exiting off the highway in the middle of town when I saw a large bird flying low, crossing the exit ramp in front of my car. It was a hawk (not as large as an eagle) struggling to get altitude because it was carrying a rabbit in it's claws! It wasn't a little baby rabbit, but not full grown either, but it was a pretty good size. I could see the bunny's eyes!!! It was going to be lunch.

Lightbulb I tried the chat today...

there was a nice person there from Virginia, and he/she seemed devoted to the site too! We had a brief nice chat there.

It was easy and worked well with my slow DSL even.

There is a new set of pictures today, of a Great Horned Owl visiting the nest
in the dark! With the night cam!

So some here might want to try the chat. No password is needed just a name.

Ooo first egg...

The first egg has been laid... and during that event, a Great Horned Owl attacked the eagle! It is in the slide slow. Hard to make out tho.

It appears that the owls want to take over the nest!
