Default News about the Decorah Eagles

Many of us watched this eagle pair via webcam last year, and some have been watching them for years. Three years for me. They might not be on display this season - they are building a new nest! Cameras cannot be moved till after next year's brood fledge.

Here's an alternative eagle pair in Davenport IA:

Seems it is still undetermined which nest they will use. I'm guessing the new one. I've yet to catch sight of a bird in the old nest, and they should have put soft nesting material in it by now. Comparing the old Decorah nest to the Davenport/Alcoa nest (link above), the old nest looks abandoned.

Maybe next year! Until then the Davenport cam is good to watch. There's a tiny square button below the screen that makes the view full screen.

Thumbs up

This looks like a very organized and experienced mated pair of eagles!
Two large fish stashed to the side!

I can't imagine how cold it is there! I love it when the chicks are so small...so miraculous these lives!

I was thinking side dish...

MrsD, I live less than 2 hours from this nest; it was 13F last night and is currently 28F. We're expecting a slight warm-up to the low 40's later this week.
