Default Aluminum foil trick.
This is a little tip for you. I heard about it and used it and it worked.
We just bought a new couch and we have five dogs that have already ruined one couch........Aluminum foil. This couch has been dog free with a piece of aluminum foil.
They don't want to get near it cause it crinkles, its shiny and it never leaves
the couch!!! I love it.!!! Doodle bug7

My cats dislike aluminum foil, too. I don't put it on the furniture but if I even take the box of Reynold's Wrap out of the drawer they scatter. I think it's the noise it makes when being torn. I've gotten to where I take the box out of the kitchen, if they are in there, before tearing off a sheet of it.

It really disturbs them!!

Badcat and Peaches don't mind foil at all. They mind almost nothing ...

Default Respect for foil
We have tried aluminum foil to keep the animals off the couch. My kitty has passed away but he was so mesmerized by the foil that He would watch it for a long time but never touch it. Once the dogs heard the first crinkle they went a different direction.
The couch is pet free now and I am Happy.

Thanks for the tip! I'll try it for when Rosie, my scared-of-thunderstorms dog tries to get on the bed when it thunders.
