Wisest Elder Ever

. This little fellow is focusing his attention on one lizard's tail, and the other who had been stationary, starts to move next to him, and freaks him out. The slippery floor lends to the over-reaction. Our cats can get this way when our garden hose moves suddenly. Once up North, our son was putting in our water line (it is a black semi-flexible pipe) and he pulled it down to the shore and back up near the house where Tippy was --it started to move on its own, and she jumped at least 4 ft straight into the air! She was so startled! We laughed and laughed at that one! She was one of those type cats who examine every pebble on the path daily... and if one had moved...she had to sniff and sniff it. She was meticulous that way. LOL (it is all rock up there, so there are no less than a jillion pebbles lying around at any one moment.

Cute!
. I love the little kids laughter in the background. My cats get "held up" on my laminate floor sometimes and run in place for a while before they get some traction and get moving. .

Understanding how cats & dogs see helps explain the reaction (doesn't make it any less funny
. ). . Sometimes I can't help but think there may be a little "drama" (overreacting) involved as well. Doc

If you notice the kitten carefully, he seems to be wearing a harness. Perhaps they are getting him used to it for future outdoor leash work.
Cats who wear harnesses tend to roll around like that anyway....so I think the presence of the harness has him a bit spooked too. There is a funny YouTube out there of a motion activated small Xmas tree that moves and talks. The cat in that video had a similar reaction. The owners put it on the floor around a dark corner and when the cat came by.... totally spooked! But I can't find it now...drat.
