Wisest Elder Ever

You know, Lara... the wild cats have markings like yours. (the old tabby) and like the hero cat. There is a show that plays on
the Science Channel which is explaining the DNA distribution of cats around the world, to find where exactly the domestication came in. They showed some wild cats in other countries. These are pretty fiesty and aggressive when needed, so the tabby markings may be genetically linked to some behaviors? Whatever, most of our cats have not been "heros" but are the opposite, and very scaredy. The only exception was our old cat Sheba (all black) who didn't want me near the deer and would come out and hiss at them! She also didn't want me in the lake...and would guard me there too. . There is a follow up interview on Yahoo today I saw with the family of the child, and close ups of the hero kittie, Tara! Pretty interesting!

Thanks,
I will now go find that follow up of Tara and the little boy. I'm interested in reading it. EDITED: I just watched the follow up. Not sure about throwing the baseball part (that's a little weird), but gosh she's just like my kitty in so many ways when you see her up close. Hockey, I know of Joanna Lumley very well. I think she's super. I am not sure I've seen that particular show though. I will also take a look at that. . How old is your Kitty? _____________ This is the only tabby we've owned and we've had many cats and she's totally different in temperament from any other cat. I love her dearly of course, but gosh she is a pain sometimes. . In fact, I'm sure she'd be nocturnal if I allowed her to follow her natural instincts. I have watched some shows in the past and certainly had some "lightbulb" moments. Her markings are truly beautiful when you look at them up close. As you know, my son has Autism and for the life of me I swear this cat has it as well. She is a stickler for routine and very self oriented and the moment something changes in her environment she's right on to it and totally out of sorts. The vet couldn't believe how old she was because of how healthy and alert she is. I put a lot of that down to her love of climbing trees. I have noticed of late though that she gets very stressed when I go out and this is a new behaviour - maybe age related or maybe environment related as it's very busy and noisy around here. Maybe it's just because I accommodate her every need over and beyond the call of duty. lol |

She wandered into a friend's yard, all ribs and shivers. Winter was coming, so... |
