Heartbreaking!
Another Government devoid of a single shred of Humanity. Oh, Happy Day when Politicians and their cronies become endangered.

Dave.

Yes indeed, and when I said it was a great story I was of course meaning they were great people trying to do a great job.

If I lived in rural South Australia I'd go to help her.
Hopefully with the publicity generated from the story she'll receive some help. It is heartbreaking to watch our unique creatures slowly but surely dying off. There are lots of volunteers out there doing amazing jobs but often totally unrecognized and the majority of people don't even know about their work.

Recently we had a cyclone affecting areas down the coast here where the turtles nest and the volunteers were out there in the wind and the rain attempting to save the eggs from the nests before the storm surge destroyed them.

Obviously natural events like this have always happened, but now that numbers are falling it's often up to us to intervene to look after those at risk. Same goes with people, not just animals and such. So many people in need as well.

Thanks for that Lara - Southern HairyNosed Wombats are my favourite Australian animals.

I found a site where it is possible to make donations to support the volunteers who are working hard to save them. I gave them some money and will keep on doing so.

I can't figure out if the NeuroTalk rules let me post the link so I won't but it is easy enough to find.

I had found it and I did. :)

Thanks!

Adorable!:)
I had never seen a wombat before. They look like teddy bears come to life.
This little one sure looks domesticated.
Thanks.
D.
