Onebeed, so sorry about the attack on your dog. Had to be a very traumatic experience for Checkers and for you. It's wonderful you and Checkers had a couple more years together to spend fun and healing times together.

Coyotes are endemic in my rural area. I've had several close encounters, in broad daylight. They are no longer timid and, as we're about to acquire a small dog, I'm wondering what protection I should carry during walks.

We have bobcats, too, but, so far, they've kept their distance.
