Default Ordering Online Meds for Cats?

Has anyone successfully ordered prescription meds for their pets online?

We have been going to a new vet and he won't refill a monthly script for our cats
prednisolone without seeing her. This is costly and excessive, not to mention difficult physically for me and my 15 yr old cat.

She has been on this med seasonally for years, she has asthma. Our former vet gave us a 3-6 month script. He sold his practice to a kid who looks to be about 14 yrs old who seems much more interested in how much he can make rather than caring well for our cat, and me.
I explained I had health issues and cannot come monthly.

Anyway, if anyone has ordered online, would you let me know which company you used? Thanks so much,
Diandra

I've never done that so I'm sorry I can't help. I actually didn't know you could buy things like that online. I have to say though that I've noticed a massive change in the way our local vet surgeries are operating.

It's all about sell, sell, sell. I don't know how it is over there these days, but here the newly graduated vets often get jobs in surgeries that are owned by big companies and not owner/vet managed like they used to be. The last time I took my cat to the vet they just kept wanting to charge me for this or that and I knew none of it was necessary. She just needed an antibiotic.

I guess they probably were wanting to see your cat to do blood tests (kidney function etc) for the prescription of the Prednisolone.

I really understand how difficult it is Diandra.

I believe that the online Vet drugs contact a Vet before shipping to you.

We used 1-800 pet meds once, when on vacation when Oreo had an abscess from a mystery animal bite on her tail. Hubby called the vet to warn them and they approved it all, so when the 1-800
PetMeds called them it was okayed. (Clavamox). Now when we go up to the woods, I ask the vet and they give me 10 to hold us over incase of an injury/infection, that might happen.

Red face

I took in a stray about 8 years ago. I found him laying in a parking lot half dead, it was 90 degrees out there. I brought him home, cleaned him up, the best I could at the time and then started feeding him, I named him Olof. Then we started with diaherra, then ear mites, an infection in his mouth and falling fur and his little feet were burned. He was a mess.

I ordered some things from PetMeds. It took some time for him to get better but he got better one ailment at a time. He spent the summer with me and lounge all day in front of the air conditioner. I took him out on a leash when he was better to do his business. After a while I allowed him to go out alone. The first few times he came back when I called him til one day he just did not come back. That's the story of Olof.

I kept calling for him until I didn't anymore. But PetMeds kept Emailing me about Olof. For about 2 years they Emailed me asking if he was alright. I even put his picture up on the local Lost Pet Rescue trying to find him. He was such a sweet boy. I never did find him. I guess he went by the way of the DoDo bird.
