Lightbulb Monarch butterflies descend on Cleveland Ohio:

Here is an interesting video...

.

It has been published recently in Nat Geo Magazine and other science periodicals that Monarchs are down to 25% of what they were.

This article about Cleveland Ohio brings some hope that they may be returning.

Thanks for posting this Mrs.D. Had three in the yard this morning and was thrilled to see them.

Thanks mrsD.

The clip brought back happy memories.

When I was a kid in NZ I grew swanplant, which the Monarchs approved of as a food source.

It was fun watching them develop from caterpillars to pupae to adults

Red face

Thanks for that video. It reminded me of a day I was at the lake, years ago, laying in the sun with my eyes closed. When I felt a tickleing sensation on different parts of my body. I opened my eyes to see what it was and I was inside a mass of Monarchs. They were all over the sand and at the water's edge drinking. It was quite a sight.
.
I just layed there motionless, they stayed for hours. They were still there when I left. The next day they had gone.
