I've also been wondering how you've been doing.

Thanks Dave and Lara
.
.

I think that I am past the grieving stage and am now working on acceptance.

I had a chat to the vets, who were lovely.

They pointed out that, when I am ready, they have lots of kittens (all desexed, vaccinated and microchipped), which go to good homes.

Sometime early next year I think - something to look forward to

So sorry Kiwi. It hurts so much to lose ones pet. I had my cat for 16 years and after he died I couldn't talk about him without choking up for a long time. It took me two years but I finally adopted two kittens. They are two years old now and are great company to me and to each other. When the time is right for you to adopt you will make two kittens very happy. Bo

i'm sorry for your loss kiwi. i know its how hard it is to lose a pet. they are like one of our children. the pain does ease up in time (though we always miss our furry babies) and you always have the happy memories you made together. and i think giving some new kittens a good and loving home is a beautiful thing for you to do. i am sending hugs and caring thoughts your way.

I have some happy news to share - Susie is back
.
!

About four weeks ago I got a message from the vet. Some lovely person found her and took her to the vet - she is microchipped so they could track me down.

They think that she was probably bitten by something, probably a spider, maybe a tick or snake and crawled away to try to heal herself. The vet put her onto an i.v. saline/nutrient drip for about a week, which she was not impressed with.

She is now fine
.
.

Thank you all for your care and concern

Cool Smirk

This is amazingly happy news. Susie must be a resilient little thing. And a great advert for microchipping.

Hope you have many more good years together now.

Dave.

Wow, I saw the thread come up and I thought you must have updated to say you had a new kitten.

What astounding news! Yay. I'm so happy for you. Poor little Susie. What a time she's had.

It's great to read that she's back home with you. You must be so happy about that.

Kiwi - that's great news - I'm glad Susie's recovered from her ordeal - no doubt she'll be sticking close to home for a while.
