To update everyone on whats new with the Blue Crowned Conure. The conure preens the hair on the back of my head daily. The end of her beak is used like a comb. The warm tongue investigates what needs to be done.
She is very careful not to miss even a single hair. During the coiffure she coos as well as makes what seem like sounds of pleasure. It almost seems like I'm being courted. Perhaps the display of preening skills indicates her skills as a potential mate. The wonder of our companion animals seems endless. |

Hi Kiwi 33,
A little bit of silliness. The conure likes to be song too. She seems to enjoy."On the Sunny Side of the Street". Here is the first part which I changed a little. "Grab your coat and get your hat,lay your worries on the door step, just direct your feet to the sunny side of the street" Here is the change I made. "just direct your beak to the sunny side of the street". At present we are awaiting the arrival of some new bird toys. |

You're very lucky they must be very tame. I had two once and boy were they noisy. I had them in a big cage outside on the gazebo when the cage got tipped over and they flew away. That was the last time I saw them. I heard them in the trees for a few days after that.

Hi Wiix,
Yes he is very tame as I got him from a breeder. Definitely very noisy. Most times very cute. When I'm not attending to her call she will glide from the top of her cage on a mission to find me. Right now she is into the preen scene as I am receiving a conure coiffure. |

Hi Kiwi 33
The toys arrived. She is enjoying her multicolored ladder. She can climb down to the floor. Rather carefully. On the return trip she is really quick. She now has enough toys to last out the year. When she isn't pleased and wishes to display her temper she will scatter her dry food in quite a deliberate fashion. Something like a toddler with wings. |

mrsD,
One of the bells in Bodhi's cage is long and cylindrical with thick sides. It has a lovely hollow sound much like a temple gong. From wherever/whatever she got the idea she strikes the bell three times sounding much like the end of a meditation session in some temples. She enjoys doing so several times daily. |
