Default The Barkless Dog

Has anyone ever heard of a Basenji? From what I heard they use to guard the pyramids way back in the day. They cut their vocal cords so they wouldn't bark and strangers would walk up on them and they would attack. I heard six of them can kill an elephant. I don't know if all this is true. But it sounded good when I bought one. They clean themselves like cats. I had mine for 16 years and she never smelt like a dog. They make a weird sound that I can't explain. I've never heard anything like it before or since I had her. She had 4 puppies and her son ate the couch. Her other pups went on to be champions. We gave him back to the people we got her from and he was being used as a stud. He ended up with a very good life. Great dogs for people with allergies and people who don't like barking. They will attack though.
