Default Update on Ben

Hi there - many thanks for your help so far.
You will probably be aware that Ben my thirteen year old springer spaniel is suffering from a nasal tumour.
Days after I posted last time, Ben started picking up a bit, his face semt to be going down and it did not seem to be running a lot. However it as suddenly got worse again, he is having breathing difficulties and it is running a lot more, and also bleeding a lot. Ben wont let you bathe it, although our vets told us to carry on doing it.
Bens tablets have all gone and our vet wont give us anymore, so it looks like we are going to have to have him put to sleep soon, it is such an hard decision to make, although we cannot see him suffer like this any longer.
He looks to have lost some weight too, which I dont think is helping him. All he wants to do at the moment is lay in the back garden all day long, he does not care whether it is raining or not!! He never used to lay in the garden in the rain, infact he used to come dashing him through the door.
I do suppose he is quite old for a springer spaniel, and hes had a good life, so if anything is to happen to him we know he was well looked after.
I will keep you updated
Thanks again
Alison and family

Heart

((((((Ali)))))),

.

I'm sorry that you're faced with such a difficult decision
.
I know how hard that is. I had to put down 4 elderly cats in the space of two years. The 5th kitty died of natural causes during the same time period.

Animals that share our lives with us also share the same illnesses.

My oldest cat was put down one week before his 22nd birthday. Fluffy used to like to lay in the sun patch all day just your dog. He didn't groom himself. He didn't eat enough. He was so skinny. He was in kidney failure. But, he didn't ACT sick until the very end. The "acting sick" is when you know it's time to let them take their next steps.

I'm sorry that you're faced with this decision. Let us know what you decide.

Hugs.

Barb
