Thank you for the crossed fingers and toes. It worked. I was just notified that I've been approved and they are going to meet me halfway between Nebraska and Iowa this weekend.
.

I feel like I've been through final exams.
.

Thank you especially (((Farm Wife))) for the private messages of encouragement.

Thumbs up

OMG Doody - this is SO exciting! She's beautiful - love the color. I have such a soft spot in my heart for those little hot dogs. Speaking of that, when I was a kid my sister made a Halloween costume for me and my dog. I was a butcher, and my little Fritzie was a hot dog - buns on each side of him with a streak of mustard down his back.
.

I knew after meeting with you they'd be fully aware she'd be treated like a queen.

Thanks you guys!

We decided to wait until the weekend after this. They're going to do a teeth cleaning, get her vet papers together, etc. etc., and that gives me time to get her the things she needs. Plus, one of their volunteers, a young married girl, apparently is very much in love with Bruna and has been the primary person socializing her....I guess she's pretty sad about Bruna leaving, poor girl. And she wants to accompany them when they bring her. Poor thing!

I'm very nervous about it actually. I think I even had anxiety attacks during the night, seriously. Cried this morning, bawling like a baby. I don't have any hormones left so don't know where all that came from.
.
For some reason I'm feeling very overwhelmed about the whole thing.

Thanks girls, you're all too sweet.

Thumbs up I bet you are excited!

I would be too. I hope the adjustment goes well for her (and you)

I don't expect your kitties will be happy for a while, but doxies are short, and
you might do okay in that regard.

My husband grew up with doxies...and still is partial to them. I'd get one myself, but the rocks up north just were too hard on their paws!

I'll be watching this thread to see what happens!

Mission Bruna is completed. We pulled into the parking lot of McDonalds off the interstate and 4 minutes later the girl arrived behind us with Bruna. The best picture is on the hard drive of my camera because I didn't have the card in it, and I can't find the device I use to get it off, and that's such a cute picture.

She arrived in a beautiful knit sweater. Some elderly ladies in Virginia found out about HUA, and they made patterns for all size doggies and donate them to the shelter. Bruna's is a lovely pink and purple.
.

We had a long drive, went to the pet store, met granddoody (he loved her and gave her a kiss), met doody daughter's husband and he loved her.

We're pooped! She is very shy and reserved and a little scared. She was kinda stinky so we gave her a bath and she is wrapped in a warm blankie now.

She's such a tiny girl. And sound asleep on the couch under a warm blankie now. We're pooped and going to bed shortly. Thank you for your support and encouragement.
