Default Bounty on cats in Randolph, Iowa

I'm so embarrassed of my state today.
.
Talk about a backward and ignorant group of city officials. They are paying $5 bounty to anyone who brings in a stray (feral) cat to be euthanized in order to control their overpopulation of cats. I'm just appalled.

A community website in Randolph has a 'shout box' for people to express their opinions. But of course, there are the usual smattering of trolls who say their idiotic things.

But that mayor!!!! He's even been offered an alternative through a TNR (Trap Neuter/Spay and Release) program and refused!!! Oi vey.

If people would only spay and neuter their animals and be responsible pet owners. Sigh.

And how about that couple in Arizona where 800 dogs were confined in a doublewide or whatever trailer? They started out as breeders and lost control of their pet population so they started hoarding them. 800 dogs. Thank god rescuers drove in by the scores to take the animals away. The couple is not being charged with anything at this time. They are described as elderly who didn't know what to do so just kept the dogs in their house. Many of them are very disabled. They had as many as 6-7 dogs stuffed in small cages and crates.
